Born prematurely and weighing just 1 pound, 11 ounces, our daughter Jamie spent her first two and a half months in the Newborn Intensive Care Unit at Kapi`olani Medical Center. There, doctors repaired her tiny heart and gave her the best chance at life. I'll never forget the moment we were able to hold Jamie for the very first time.
